Is Verizon better with multitasking for phones?

Can you talk on the phone and search the internet and other things all at the same time? I am thinking about switching from Sprint to Verizon, I really want the Thunderbolt, but if I switch to VZW I want to be able to talk on the phone and do other things at the same time without the internet going out while im on the phone.
Does Verizon let you do that?
