Ever since WWII, when the Australian Imperial Force where in Europe defending England & England were not able to release our Battalions to defend our homeland, it was left upto the Australian 18th Battalion to inflict the first defeat upon the Japanese Imperial Army, prior to the US becoming involved, surely without the US, especially US Navy's victory in the Coral Sea & the USMC & Army, the threat would have eventually overpowered us, image our beautifull Country lost to an Enemy!

So ever since WWII, as Australia has always looked to the US, instead of England, would US Support if we were attacked or faced an incursion from a hostile force, such as Indonesia, North Korea, possibly even Japan (again), be assured?

From all accounts we could handle Indonesia, even with an Army 4 times the siae of our entire Defence Force, but Nth Korea, China or Japan? No chance!
I understand the ANZUS alliance, but with NZ banning all US Nuclear Warships from NZ waters, do you think they have diminished the strength of our relationship?
I think NZ have done nothing but bite the hand that feeds it, almost cutting their nose off despite their face!
