Is upper back pain related to acid reflux

Hi,

I had heart burn for a couple of days which was treated with Protonix 40mg. The symptoms were chest pain and pain between the shoulder blades. After a couple of days after taking Protonix, the heart burn decreased considerably. But the back pain between my shoulder blades is still there even after a week.

The funny thing is that I don't feel the back pain when I am sleeping. It starts about 30 minutes after I wake up in the morning.

Could you please help.

I had back pain when I first was diagnosed with GERD/Barretts Esopogus.. it took a while for it to go away.. but one day after a few months on meRAB, I realized the pain was gone.. I stilll get a tightness in my chest area but as it gets worse, I start burping and that seems to relieve it.
