Is Toyota build quality still much better than other rivals, particulary Citroen?

I'm looking at getting a brand new car, and am stuck in deciding between a Toyota or a Citroen. I know historically Toyota has had the best reputation for build quality, while Citroen's was poor. But I'm not sure if this is still the case nowadays. It seems with Citroen I can get much more 'car' for my money than with Toyota, but is this cause they use cheaper parts/materials?

Citroens are cheaper than Toyotas for a reason: They're OK as a cheap car, but they do suffer from problems - mainly niggles rather than anything serious, but in particular electrical systems & trim are pretty fragile.
If you're looking at a brand new car, you're losing so much in depreciation anyway that the value of having a new car warranty will be offset against this loss. Buy a twelve month old Toyota, save that initial hit of depreciation, and you'll still have years of trouble free motoring.
