Is TMO tripping?

How can they come out with a new Blackberry 8820 without 3G, they must be stuck in EDGE land. A real waste why would someone come out with old technology on a new Blackberry. T-mobile is continuing to fall behind the other carriers in product and network becoming a second rate company.

From What I understand is that one thing they have to get the spectrum needed in order to make the 3g networks work and some of that spectrum has to be bought fromt he goverment from some reports is that the goverment has yet to release it to tmobile and If they don't have the system ready I doubt they would want to spend so much money releasing phones with features they can not offer yet.

um there is NO Blackberry with 3g ( unless you consider vzw's ev-do) so it's not really a surprise. Wont see a 3g for awhile.

The 8820 also has the hotspot @ home service where AT&T doesn't have. Also T-mobile has a 3g network in place. They are finalizing a few things. And according to different reports are ahead of their schedule for getting the 3g network launched. Also everyone is making a huge hoopla about 3g but I really don't see a lot of people using a lot of the 3g services with some of the other carriers. So its not like where missing that much. Lol. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

Well, the Vodafone 8707v was a 3G BlackBerry. Just not here. And T-Mo is almost there. They have had to wait for the government to completely vacate the spectrum. Let's face it, the government isn't exactly swift.

there have been...a couple actually.

i'll have to look around online, but i think i remember there being one in japan a year or two back...among others.

i've been wrong before, but i swear i'm right on this.

Well if there was, they aren't available in the U.S. If ATT hasn't got it yet, then of course any other carrier hasn't got it either since they seem to be one of the first carriers. If you want it that bad go to Japan they are way ahead of the U.S technology wise.

From what I heard from Tmo is that they have most of the 3G in place and it is basically plug and play from here. They expect to have it all set up by the end of 4th quarter.

As far as the 8820. It issss sweet. Midnight blue, wifi and GPS. My goodness. Imagine that in NYC. You'll never get lost and you will have the fastest browsing and data service around.

Supposedly it's all already in place. However, the government is currently occupying some towers for their own use, they paid of course, and T-mobile is waiting for them to leave those towers.

As for you mac...maybe you're tripping. Everything fun in life costs at least five dollars.
