Is this your living room?

Last night, I went out with some friends to a local bar. It's a new sports bar actually... it's alright, nothing special. Your normal high tables in the middle, booths around the outside and TV's hung all over the place.

So we're sitting there having a beer when the lady in the booth behind me turns around and says "Excuse me, I'm trying to Watch American Idol, could you please keep it down?" We all thought that was about the dumbest shit ever but we behaved and got a bit quieter.

A few minutes later she decides we're interfearing with her fucking show and she taps me on the back of my head and says "I thought I asked you to be quiet so I could watch my show."

At that point she's crossed TWO lines. 1. Don't touch me. 2. Don't talk down to me.

So I turn around and reply "I'm sorry, did I accidentally walk into your living room? I honestly thought this was a public place where we could come to talk and have some beer and dinner. I didn't realize it was a place where mindless cows like you could come and rot your brains watching that shit they call entertainment. Perhaps if you want to watch the show you should sit your fat ass on the couch at your fucking house and watch it there? Or invest in a God DAMN VCR and stop being a simple minded, selfish BITCH."

Her husband asked me just who he thought I was talking to. I said "The bitch that thinks it's ok to come to a public place and demand silence so she can watch a show written for retards." At that point I mostly turnned around and they either left or found a new place to sit away from the crazy man.

But fuck. Ok, people like that stupid show. I don't get it. It's a completely worthless show with no point, no impact and is blatantly stupid. It can't even hope to attain "lowest common denominator" status. But people like it. BUT WHY would you go to a SPORTS bar and expect that you'd be able to watch any show, much less that stink? And what makes anyone think they have the right to silence someone else in a public place like a bar?

And what really pisses me off is that instead of getting the point, she probably just thinks I'm some wild crazy asshole. And I am. But I had a point to my wild crazy asshole-ishness damnit. ANd that point was that she was being a stupid, selfish cow.

God I hate people.

Oh, I would have protected you from the scary lady. But yeah, what a cunt. Good thing you didn't get into a fight w/ that guy, your fingers are broken. I don't go to bars, but that doesnt make any sense, and I think you are well within your rights as a customer.

DG's right, fuck her. She's being a dumb bitch for expecting everyone else to be quiet for her, who nominated her queen of everything around? Everyone goes there to have a good time, and relax for a bit, and not be nag for making too much noise, especially just of some dumb show. Pfft to her. PFFT. Those kind of people annoy me.

That's fucking retarded dude. If it were me, I'd have asked the bartender to change the station to something SPORTS related. American Idol should NEVER, ever be played in a bar. I don't give a shit who's there. And the bitch's husband's a tool.

Great job, Uber! A sports bar is a public place, where people go primarily to watch sports, something that's mostly visual and you don't need to hear. They're traditionally kinda loud places. American Idiot, er, I mean Idol, is something you havta hear to appreciate, if that's possible. Anyway, the dumb bitch shoulda never left her house.

As for your TV comment, I don't understand WTF folks are watching these days. Reality TV, which is edited and scripted, so it's not reality. Lame ass game shows. Every half wit and their mother seems to have a talk show. And, of course, American Idol, which is just moronic karaoke for those to lazy to hit a bar. Don't they do sitcoms anymore? Or how about an hour-long series that doesn't have the initials CSI in front of it?

Anyway, the selection is so piss poor these days that I just rent DVDs. It's kinda sad, really.

Pop Idol/American idol is another programme devoted to the mindless, ambitionless masses who take joy out of watching others suceed because they are to scared to attempt to suceed themselves.

If i was to go on any reality show i would go on shipwrecked. 5 months in the south pacific to enjoy the sun and create a community to live in is my idea of heaven

I think it's funny that the woman went to a public place (like a Sport's Bar) and then had the (what's the female equivalent of balls?) nerve to ask a member of the public (like yourself) to stifle it. Your response was absolutely eloquent.

What an idiot. I'm sure her hubby was probably somewhat in agreeance with you or he probably would have gotten a bit more aggressive. Really, you can't go to anywhere with the word "BAR" in it and expect silence. Hell, you don't have the right to go to any public place aside a library, hospital, or business offices, and expect to have quiet and definitely not the right to demand it. Good for you. People who are being that stupid deserve to be put in their place.

That aside, American Idol is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. I don't make it a point to watch it, but if it's on, I do. I suppose because I enjoy singing myself and would NEVER be stupid enough to go on there and open myself up to that kind of criticism (especially Simon). I think I sing better than atleast most who go to the first auditions. Some people have no real friends who allow them to make fools of themselves on national tv...

Uber, seriously.. You should have gotten ontop of your table and begin to sing the exact same song thats on American idol.. Infact even do a strip tease with it.

That would have shut her up.. hahahah

What an idiot, if she really wanted to watch the show, she shouldn't have been in a bar in the first place. Was she expecting total silence in a public place like that?

Probably too poor to pay for cable so she bitched her way down to the bar, but hey, I have done that too.

As for american idol, I agree, the FCC should be proud of those producers.:thumbsdn:
