Is this worth going to court over?

Today I got a ticket for running a 4-way stop in a 30 mph speed zone in a very small town with little traffic. At first I was dumbfounded on how I could have missed such an important thing like that, so afterwords I went back to the intersection to see why I did not notice it. (thankfully the officer who pulled me over did not take my license) I found that the stop sign was positioned just perfectly behind a street light so that the street light blocked my view of the stop sign. At the time I ran it, there were no other cars stopped at the intersection. I am in the first year of having my license and do not want a moving violation on my record so early. I have driven through that intersection before, but with a parent and during much buisier times. Should I just plead guilty and pay the $75 fine or do you think I could win in court?

Also: the stop sign was not competely obscured, just enough so that the letters were not visible from the perspective of the driver and the street light was a good yard or two away from the stop sign.
I have review the laws regarding street sign visibility in my state and have found that if the street sign is not visible, I will not be guilty of disobeying it.

You are aware that street lights hang 5-10 ft higher than a stop sign so this does not happen right?
Don't bother to go to court over it because a judge will explain to you exactly what I just told you.

All stop signs and street lights are hung to a specific height which is decided by the state you live in. Admit it, You weren't paying attention. Did your parent buy that line of BS you handed them?

Now let me quote you and respond.

"I have review the laws regarding street sign visibility in my state and have found that if the street sign is not visible, I will not be guilty of disobeying it."

Nowhere in any state is a judge required to drop a charge because a street sign may be missing or obstructed. Ignorance to the law is no excuse to break it. I guess I can go to a 4 way intersection and remove all the stop signs and speed limit signs and everyone can just zip through doing 90? You have a lot to learn.
