Army

ASVAB Score - The Army requires a minimum AFQT Score of 31 to qualify for enlistment. However, in recent months, the Army has been approving more and more waivers for those with scores as low as 26 (Category IVA). To qualify for certain enlistment incentives, such as enlistment bonuses, an Army recruit must score a minimum of 50.

Education - The Army allows more recruits to enlist with a GED than any other branch. In Fiscal Year 2008, only 83 percent of new Army recruits had a high school diploma (or at least 15 college credits), comparted with the Department of Defense (DOD) average of 92 percent. The Army even has a special program, called Army Prep School, that allows individuals to enlist who have no high school diploma or GED.

Okay so if I have a diploma and got a few points below a 31 could I get a waiver?

To qualify for certain enlistment incentives, such as enlistment bonuses, an Army recruit must score a minimum of 50. YES, the exception is if you pick a job that the ARMY really needs to fill or is critically short on and you pick more than the standard 3yr term.

The Army even has a special program, called Army Prep School, that allows individuals to enlist who have no high school diploma or GED. this is true, but again once they go through the program must score a 50 or better on the ASVAB and have positively NO CRIMINAL CHARGES.

Okay so if I have a diploma and got a few points below a 31 could I get a waiver? NO. CAT IV waivers are not available right now and are not going to be available for the foreseeable future

Most likely, but the fact that you have a diploma, and only scored something less than a 31 proves the point that your diploma is worth it's weight in Toilet Paper...

Turn off Cartoon Network, and learn something.

Gregg... you're the man... I'll shut up now

No you need to score at least a 50 on the AS-VAB test and the army does take high school drop outs but it`s much harder to enlist in the army for some one that has dropped out of high school you than have to score at least an 80 to enlist in the army if you have dropped out of school.
