Hi everyone.
This is kind of long PLEASE bear with it I'm really confused!
This weekend I had a 20$ off for Best Buy coupon and I had gotten a PS3 + Black Ops few weeks before.
I went in the store and decided to buy the Tritton Ax 180 - $70. It was $50 with the coupon. So I got home and hooked it up to the Ps3 and at first I had problem getting the mic to work but I had to twist it or something. Anyways I got it working now.
I'm just beginning to regret buying the headset at all for because I'm so new at gaming. I feel like I wasted 50 dollars for a gaming headset which I never have YET found the good use of it compared to just using the TV Sound. I tried communicating with people in PSN while playing multiplayer but either people are being idiots, or people that have the background sound so loud its impossible to hear the guy at all, or 90% of the time I'm ALWAYS ignored.
[X] I surely can hear footsteps better but I can't tell where they're from.
[ ] Communicating with other people while playing, NOPE. People are unresponsive.

This Tritton Ax 180 also works for the PC and ipod/mp3 players (but I think you have to buy another connector or something..-_-)
I'm not much of an avid gamer. Or Right now I'm starting to game alittle. I used to play FPS on the PC and I did somehow decent without a headset. I'm beginning to play Black Ops more often as I try to get used to the controller...
QUESTION 1: what IS the use of a gaming headset?
QUESTION 2: Will I be able to tell a difference later on in my gaming experience WITH the Headset?
Question 3: In YOUR Opinion. Is this purchase worth it? Should I return it before the time is up? (1st day of purchase)
I bought the headset so I can talk to people and maybe plan strageies and stuff but I swear no one ever responds to me and only my friend who play does (only 2 lol).
and Its really messy when everyone talks on the same time while playing -___-
( I researched and the Ax 180 is a universal headset so it could be somehow beneficial.. only thing is I don't got a XBOX or a Mp3/ipod.) and please don't tell me about turtle beach etc etc.
