101 mins 24 secs, still a PG.

You mean 'Video Feature', surely that could just mean it is only coming out on DVD.

No, The Simpsons Movie has not been cut by the BBFC. You have nothing to worry about.

I realise the film is uncut by the BBFC, but their is some footage they did not stick in the film in order for it to retain this rating eg. when Homer is driving through the sign posts to dump the pig crap, one says "You bastard," but they deleated this from the final edit. According to Matt Groening there is an extra 40 mins of deleated scenes, which will be releasd on a special edition DVD at some point, just wondering if this is it.

Bastard is perfectly acceptable at PG, the only thing that will get a film a 12 is 'f*ck' or 'w*nker'. Bastard, shit, asshole, bitch, piss and others are all acceptable in a PG film.

Bad comic timing, slows the pace of the scene, unfunny joke... any reason really. The most obvious one would be, of course, for money. They released the film, and will release it again on a special edition DVD which may very well make people who already own the original flog it on eBay and buy the newer version, so 20th Century Fox make even more money... No?

They mention on the DVD commentary that they went through loaRAB of different ideas for what to put on the signs but scrapped most of them in the end.
