Sometimes (in flute playing, anyway) two adjacent notes are linked by repeating the first one at the beginning of the second. So I would go SOOOOOOL - solLAAAAAA, where the second one is slurred. How would I write this down? I know it can be done with an appoggiatura, but is there a neater symbol?
Also, is there a name and a symbol for the ornament made by trilling your tongue (as opposed to your fingers) while playing the flute?
