100% right...all the mentioned bikes will find some lovers but for me and maybe only for myself...if it is not for the most beautiful bike ever built, the superbike, Ducati and all the other mentioned space ships are just not for me...they just look like shit and i personally would choose walking before been seen sitting of on one of those...
sorry if i hurt somebodys feelings but these things are just sooooo ugly...

Where are you located in Florida? If you are somewhere in the NE or central Florida, go to Mellilimoto in Ocala. The owner "Sebastian" will treat you right and he has the best Ducati service department in Florida!!
Get the Sergeant seat
Heli bars
Adjust the suspension
With these mods, you can ride for days. I got the Termi slip ons and have never had the under seat heat problems that everyone talks about. I dont know why but maybe mine just runs cooler than most.
Good luck on your purchase!!

Thanks! I live in Miami.
Sargent seats are really excellent... I have tried one with my ZX14 and i absolutely loved it... I am also thinking to try the 848.. I will save about 3k and in the case that i find it uncomfortable for everyday use i will have the option (...the funds) to buy and a i4 (i.e zx10, 6K out of the door).

I would really like to own a ducati... I just believe that it is better not to always repeat yourself and try something new!

I was in a similar situation to you. Rode hondas for years. Decided to upgrade to Ducati just a week ago. Went in to buy the white 1198 base and left with the red s. I plan to use the bike for daily commuting, weekend twisties and track days.

The biggest change for me was going from inline to twin. Two totally different feelings. The riding position is aggressive but not extreme like I expected from reading some posts. But then again I'm over 6ft tall and I hear that it is less of an issue if you are over 6ft tall.

Most of my daily commute is on highway with no traffic at all. So I actually love riding to work on the Duc.

The heat from the tail is also very new to me and very real. I thought to myself, how bad could it be. My cbr929 got hot sometime, most litre bikes do. Well, the Duc redefined hot. But there are options to improve this I hear (ie ceramic coating, carbon fiber cans, etc).

So....i think that the bike really needs slip on (....at least, the full system is about 2.2K or something like this). I am 6.02ft.
The white is not actually white, but pearl white!! After 2 years or more, this colour will not seem so nice..... like what happened with the blue japanese bikes a few years ago.
I think that Black or red is the best option.... where is the yellow??
