My laptop charger cord just broke open (I can see the wires) and I would like to tape it up so I can charge my laptop ASAP. I don't wanna buy "special" tape if scotch tape could be used. When I plugged it, it cause small fire sparkles, but I'm thinking if I tape it up, it will stop? I'm a young woman and don't really know too much about electronics. WHAT'S SAFE to do??? Can any tape be used and be safe???

hey....
be care full...
you CAN NOT fix it only with some tape.!
if it is sparky , it means the core of wire is braked and you may fix it first.
The best way is to take it to authorized peoples to fix it.
and if you can (with your own risk), it may be better to cut the wire from where it is sparks. then join the cores firmly and tape them separately.
.
BE CARE FULL , THE MAINS IS TOO DANGER.

not ANY tape you can go buy electrical tape that would work great and they come in all different colors so it would match the color of the wire

You can't just tape it up. You need to make sure the two wires DO NOT TOUCH each other. So, tape each wire individualy, then tape them both together. You need to use electric tape or you may damage completeley both the charger and your laptop.
