Is this possible to copy my car key?

Do you think I'd be able to copy the car key for my 2005 Ford Escape?
There are 2 sets of keys already, and one of them is my mom's and the spare, and she doesn't like me carrying the spare around.. So I want to make my own copy.

Do you think it would be possible?? If so, could I just get it done at Canadian Tire or something?
 
Possibly. Be sure it's not one of those security keys that has an embedded micro chip. If anything the dealer could make one. But be ready to pay thru the nose for it.
 
You need to have all the keys with you when making a copy as the newer vehicles have security chips in them. This would most likely have to be done at a Ford Dealership and would probably cost somewhere around $50-$60. If you just had a plain copy made of it, once you turn the key forward, it would lock your engine's computer and you would have to call Ford to fix it anyway! It is an anti theft device.
