At the daybreak of time
the beauty of Lucifer
sat at the throne of god
and being less than omniscient
asked the mighty one
"Majesty why is this creation innocent
is not naivety an incomplete
and vulnerable state;
having nothing to learn?"
The Almighty replied
"Lucifer ol' chum,
they have no need of knowledge
and I have forbidden them from it.
I provide them with everything
without labor, and sweat."
To which the future dark lord inquired
"My Lord, is the intoxicated state
of an opiate addict idyllic
are they not drunk to existence
without anything to sober them?"
To which the lord rebutted,
"This is Blaspheme, foul serpent
to give a mere animal insight
would they not wonder
who created me, would they not
dare to ask why they need to bow,
would they not esteem themselves
and ask to be equals in my presence?"
And in a cruel revelation Lucifer answered
"Lord, I am ready for Hell, for by your vanity
am I already in it, Damned to know that in pride
I like you art but a mirror to wisdom
for it is by education that evolving the spirit
one may esteem himself
and demand liberty and equality."
And thus Lucifer willingly fell from grace
a tear of sorrow and misfortune on his face
but at that moment Hell was every place
especially in the company of a tyrant.
Yes I did author this, although elements of Wilde, Bryon, and Milton can be found in it.
