Is this paragraph on American Culture (1950s) correct?

Theatre in America underwent a change. Musicals were even more popular, with the development of “Grease”, a popular musical show that was famed for its hip music and storyline relevant to young teens. Dance in theatre was influenced greatly by Martha Graham, whose contemporary work was considered to have changed the whole future of dance.

Is this correct? Some sites say that theatre went up, some say films dominated. Who is correct?

Films definitely dominated Broadway musicals went out of style around the '30's I believe, and film was definitely dominant over musicals. I don't know about Grease paving the way for music storylines, but it could be true. You should do a paper on India's Bollywood instead. They are the BIGGEST film industry in the world, and guess what? Most of their movies are musicals! You should do a paper on how American culture has paved the way for foreign industries such as Bollywood and how they tie together. That would be a great paper.
