dont know exactly when it started but i noticed this urge to take in a deep breath alot, sometimes not getting it,or yawning all the time if i keep my mind on other things seems to let up some, but if i focus on it alot oh boy all hhhh breaks loose.Had stress test, ekg, blood test chest xray, all normal, normal blood pressure.any ideas.just went to my doctor and got ativan.will this go away, had for about 3months now.quit smoking quite awhile ago, could this be a side effect from that;)

I get this to. I have been told it is caused from anxiety. I also have had all kinRAB of test and they all came back normal.

It's normal with anxiety. It's called air hunger. What helped me before was when driving turning on the AC to full cold or taking slow breaths from the freezer. Cold air is denser so will help a bit.

No it's from anxiety. I have it too. Sometimes I get dizzy from it and almost passed out once but caught myself and threw myself on the floor before I hit it. lol.

Yeah also I have trouble with heat in my face in the car but I can have the AC on and be fine. I find myself gasping for air when the heat is blowing in my face though.

:D:D Me, too. I sometimes freeze people out in the car because I have to have the A/C on to breathe. :) Also, I hate being the passenger with people in case they don't use their A/C. This may sound strange to some of you, but I live in Sunny Florida and you would be surprised the people that don't turn on the A/C in the summer. It makes me anxious just thinking about it. ;)

yup. i totally get this. and only learned a few months back that it was in fact anxiety. It's so weird because I would have thought my anxiety problems would only affect situations in which I have anxiety (ie social situations) but now i'll just be loungin comfortable in my room, and all of a sudden I get this. And it consumes me. I need to put 100% effort into getting those breaths. I often find I need to lean over with my head directly above my knees almost (when sitting) and this seems to help a little. Also like others have mentioned I need to yawn EXCESSIVELY to get these breaths. It's frustrating. :(

anxiety sucks

Yeah the last few days I've been having these anxiety symptoms I haven't had since before I started Neuroreplete. With the breathing thing-happened again tonight when I was driving and had to turn the heat off so I could breathe but wanted to pull over. Then I find that I stop breathing too sometimes. Yikes. Anyway, it will go away I'm sure just focus on deep breathing! Sometimes if I try to do other things it takes my mind off of it.
