Is this Mazda worth $12,000?

It's a 2004 Mazda RX-8 with 76,022 miles. Do you think it's worth it? My parents told me that the miles are to high and it'll just cause problem and be in the shop. They say once it hits 100,000 it's time for new parts and stuff. What do you think?
I'll be able to get it for $10,000-$11,000. I want a nice looking car, I'm 17 btw. But I want to make sure that it won't give me and problems... man this is starting to frustrate me.
 
The RX8 is a really nice car, and its mileage isn't too bad. sure its a bit high but its not gonna be like every week u gotta do stuff to it. chances are you'll be able to drive it for ATLEAST 5-7 years more. But 12 grand for it is a bit high, try goin for the 10 grand and it's gonna be a fair purchase. it's engine is a rotary engine but it doesn't need more upkeep than regular ones. so pretty much if you like it more than other cars around that price, and have the money for it, i would go for it.
