Is this Health and Safety law gone mad?

1. On a children's TV show recently, kids were made to wear safety goggles on a 'custard pie throwing' competition.

2.Yesterday, on ITV, a presenter had to put on safety googles, while trying to paste a strip of wallpaper!

Where will it end!
Any other silly examples of H&S gone mad would be appreciated!

I don’t think that’s health and safety law in practice haha. I do Hospitality and none of the stuff you just said is similar to the Occupational Health and Safety Laws. Also doing “Workpplace” in Legal Studies and don’t think they would make rules THIS stupid. Some rules are that you must wear safety equipment when using machinery like the meat slicer, which could slice your arm off. Don’t remember any more. Not too good with memory.. Did this last year 

I think the program with the kids was trying to protect its butt from being sued. I mean these days people sue for anything. If one of the kids had an allergic reaction to the custard pie, the show will probably have to sped a whole lot of money on the costs. i didnt mean to aggravate you
