is this going to cook right?

i am planning on making a 14 inch square by 2 inch high cake. i am wondering if i am going ot have trouble with getting the center part cooked??? anyone ever baked a cake that size can you give me advice? i don't know if i should buy this thing you put in the middle while it is baking.....please let me know...

i baked a 2 inch cake, it turned out fine.....everything was baked you should leave it in the oven for an extra 1-2 and a half minutes and if you're really worried.........when you have the cake batter when its wet, don't fill a cake pan the size you want it, put the batter in a 14 inch by 1 inch and then cut it in half and put frosting on top of one piece and then you can have a layered cake.(put frosting in between the two pieces of cake to make them stick together and when you cut the cake and serve it...it will look pretty on the inside.
