I am looking into getting a nordic breed of dog, and the Alaskan Malamute came to mind.
I want someone who is friendly with people and loves exercise. I am lucky enough to be home pretty much all day except an hour or so in the evening, so the dog would not be home alone a lot. I am not a first time dog owner and know the extensive grooming requirements, climate, training and such needed. I have dealt and successfully trained dog aggressive and high prey drive dogs (I have 2 cats) of my own as well. Puppy classes and such are always a must.
I want to take it hiking and along trails close to where I live in the summer. Daily walks/runs would range from 1-2 hours a day as well as training/play/socialization time.
I just want to get others opinions if they have a mal how energetic it is and such. I want the dog to be happy as well as myself and won't get this breed unless I have enough time for it. Any help is appreciated!
