Hi, I'm about to be buying my first car and don't know much about the automotive industry so I was wondering if this deal for a Honda Civic 1989 Hatchback with an engine swap (B16A) was worth it. The swap was done just a few months ago so you can assume kilometers are low. The car also has new brakes front and back, new brake booster and master cylinder, timing belt, new distributor, new starter, radiator, certified passed etest, adjustable fuel regulator, and new lower ball joints. The price is $1500, and body is in decent shape (has the usual rust on the body around rear wheels but aside from that its decent). So, can anyone tell me if its worth it, and if not, why?
Also wondering if it was legal in Canada (Ontario to be exact) to be driving a car with a swapped engine. And if there are any side issues that may result with the car for having a swapped engine.
Crowfeather: is it a straight forward process reporting it to Motor Vehicle office or will there be tests on the car and chances of being rejected and such? and the seller said he used it for a month after the swap but didnt mention anything else.
Chema_espina: Yup, I'm on a low budget considering im a teen working part time, and I heard Hondas are the most reliable, and cheapest to maintain
