Every single morning, I constantly wake up with my nose full of mucus, and I mean heaps of mucus. It takes a while for me to blow it all out, and even when I blow it all out a lot of it just comes back throughout the day.

I also get watery eyes quite often throughout the day (mainly in the morning)

I have horrible Dark Circles under my eyes also.

And I also get this strange feeling in my nose every now and then throughout the day. Randomly, in one of my nostrils it will just feel irritated by something and this will be followed by a few sneezes.

This has been going on for ages, and occurs all year round, not just in certain seasons. I have been tested for a few of the main allergies, like dust, termites and cockroach etc. and nothing really showed up out of the ordinary.

Is what I have an allergy to something? I just cannot figure out what it could be.

Yes, it sounRAB like allergies. Have you tried any antihistamines? Saline sprays or rinses? What about a benedryl at bedtime since you seem to wake up with so many reactions?

Yes I have tried a lot of allergy medication, and nothing works.

The nasal sprays seem to do ok, but the problem is that I can only use them for 3 days then I have to stop using them, so they are quite useless then.

Nasal Irrigation only works every now and then, the main problem being that since one nostril is so badly blocked, the water gets trapped and it can really be painful.

I just wish I knew what I was allergic to.

Sorry mate I am not really into the natural stuff, I have tried it before and it just does not work for me.

However, does anybody have an idea of specifically what I could be allergic to? According to a blood test I had a while back, I am fine for things in the air like dust etc.

So if I have these allergies all year round no matter where I am, what could I be allergic too?

Year round allergies tend to be dust mites, pet dander, perfumes/strong odors, etc. And the fact that it comes on while you are asleep would lead one to think it is dust mites as they are very much in your bed linens. You could try dust mite covers for your mattress and pillows. Wash your bed linens weekly in hot water, etc. That's why I suggested the benedryl at bedtime.

As for the blood test, the better test is the skin scratch test. It would be very specific.

Also, why do you have to stop the saline sprays after 3 days? You can do them forever with no side effects.

Try a neti pot. If that doesn't wash away the blockage, then it might be structural....and that would need to be taken care of surgically.

Have you tried a steroid nasal spray from your dr? or are you using the otc sprays that are addictive?

I did not react to the little scratch tests they do on your back. They had to inject the allergen under the skin.

You should keep up with the neti pot or sinurinse bottle at least once a day. If you do have a blockage, another reason to faithfully use a steroid nasal spray (rhinocort, nasonex, flonase) to get the swelling down. I know it can be painful if the water doesn't drain.

What has helped me lately is practically eliminating wheat and acupuncture. Wheat and dairy can create mucous. Keep a journal of what you eat, weather, pollen counts etc. You need at least one room at home that is allergen free. Get the mattress covers and pillow cases. If you have carpet in your room, i would remove it if possible. Air cleaners can also help.

I know i've felt worse in the morning if the air is too dry. I run a humidifier in my room every night
