Is this a transmission problem with my 1999 toyota 4 runner?

Hey everyone. I need some answers. I have been having problems with my 1999 toyota 4 runner. Its an automatic 4 cylinder. When I put it in drive it engages agressively into gear creating a loud clank. It does the same thing when I put it in reverse. Also, when I start to drive from a dead stop there is a quiet squeeling that comes from the rar ens that incceased in speed as I accelerate. This goes away after about 15 mph. Finally, when I am on the highway there is a low hum or rumble that starts to happen right around 60 mph. Could this be a transmission problem?

Here's some background info....In December of this past year my car was hit by a drunk driver parked on the side of the road. She hit the car in the back left fender and corner panel at 35 mph and my car was at a dead stop. the car was pushed up on the sidewalk about 12 feet from where it was parked.

Could these problems I am having come from this accident? I'm trying to figure out what's going on. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!!!!

i would check the transmission fluid in your car you can check it by starting the car putting it in drive then reverse then park then leave the car on and pull the dipstick at the back of your engine out and see if your fluid is low because that is a common problem with vehicles if that is not low then your transmission may be junk if its a automatic or your clutch is junk i would take it to a shop and they will tell you whats wrong they will probably check all fluids for pretty cheap
