...version of check fraud? Okay almost everyone is looking for employment. In doing so, some of the places we search are online job boards. However, I've noticed recently what I suspect is a new twist on the old, hey you've won money or received an inheritance from an unknown cousin scam. I believe it's the we are looking for an employee scam. It's very complex but it's real enough for a person to suspect it's for real. So here's the story. I applied for a data entry position with a company who posted an ad for a job. I was sent back a long extensive letter which outlined the job details and asked me for references and to complete a lengthy set of interview questions. Okay sounds good and I go there and spend some time completing the application. I receive immediately great news I've received the position. However because they are now suggesting they will "send money to establish trust," for me to make a purchase and are asking for information they already have but in a format that I've seen in other scam requests. Still because so much of it seems authentic I can't help but wonder. So has anyone ever heard of Lead Computers, Inc. (LCI) or the Home Business Unit? LCI is listed online and in the yellow pages as a 7 year company in Missouri. I can't find a telephone number and the ones I do find are fax machines or voice mail. Nothing comes up in better business bureau. There are questions concerning hours and payroll so I don't know or maybe I do. What do you guys think? If you have information on this company, please let me know. If you know another way to check out a company let me know too. Also, if I'm being seriously delusional because I need a job, please be kind, but give me a heads up too. Oh by the way, the latest red flag is mention that they will send me a check to pay for something I believe they should buy as a company. Thanks. Please serious responses.
