is this a good time to trade-in a chrysler?

I have an 2005 chyrsler pacifica i wanted to upgrade to a 2007 fully loaded chrysler pacifica is it wise to trade in a chrysler for a chrysler at this time while chrysler is selling off all its inventory
 
I heard a lot of people saying the dealers aren't paying anything for trade ins and a few just ask the dealer what they would give and then just ask relatives if they wanted to buy it for the same amount. If it works everyone wins. You have down payment which gives you a better position from which to bargain and you cut out the dealer from the resale of your old car.
