its about hiroshima and atomic bomb, what can i add?
After completing John Hershey’s Hiroshima, the revelation of the impact of the atomic bomb had an adverse affect on the people of Japan. The causes of the bomb lead to the impact of the characters life’s in the book as well. Some of those characters are, Dr. Masakazu Fujii, Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura, and Reverend Mr. Kiyoshi Tanimoto.
On August 6 and 9, 1945, the cities of “Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed by the first atomic bombs used in warfare.“ The first atomic bomb ever to be used in a military operation was dropped on the city of Hiroshima, Japan On August 6, 1945 at 8:16:02 a.m. Hiroshima time. Many people died and many were left hurt. By the end of 1945, about 140,000 people had died from the bombing. The bomb had killed men, children, not just them but it killed both military personnel and civilians.
* “The development of the bomb” began with scientists working on their own independent projects. Forty years prior to the making of the Atomic bomb scientists were developing ideas that would later become the backbone of the Manhattan Project.
“The effects of the atomic bombs were very critical.” The two atomic bombs dropped on Japan and the many nuclear teats carried out in the 1940s,50s,60s and 70s have left a high level of background radiation for all the people of the world which has caused a vast increase in the amount of cancer, childhood leukemia and birth defects. Dropping the bomb ended the war with Japan. If the bomb had not been dropped, the war would have dragged on much longer and many more Allied lives would have been lost, and very possibly more Japanese lives as well, since Japanese would have continued dying in the war as well.
Many of the characters in the book Hiroshima were left devastated and hurt as well. One of those characters is, Dr. Masakazu Fujii. A successful physician, Dr. Fujii owns a small, private medical clinic and has a wife who lives in Osaka. When the bomb strikes, his entire clinic sadly goes into water. Dr. Fujii rebuilds his Hiroshima clinic in 1948 not just treating citizens of Hiroshima, but Americans that were hurt as well. As the result of the bombing Dr. Fujii’s life changes very little.
Another one of the characters is Mr. Kiyoshi Tanimoto. A thoughtful and kind Methodist pastor, Mr. Tanimoto works endlessly to help bring many of the nameless dying and wounded to safety. He is unhurt by the bomb and feels ashamed to be healthy while surrounded by so much human misery; so he spends more time and energy than any other character helping the wounded. After the war, he travels to America to give speeches and raise money for a peace center in Japan.
Last and not least one other character which is Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura. Mrs. Nakamura is caring and resourceful, as well as a dedicated citizen. Mrs. Nakamura is the only one in charge of a family although some of the male characters are married, their wives and children are not present in the narrative. After hearing that they poisoned the city, she begins to hate America even more than she did during the war.
According to On August 2, 1939, just before the beginning of World War II, Albert Einstein wrote to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Einstein and several other scientists told Roosevelt of efforts in Nazi Germany to purify uranium-235, which could be used to build an atomic bomb. It was shortly thereafter that the United States Government began the serious undertaking known then only as "The Manhattan Project." Simply put, the Manhattan Project was committed to expediting research that would produce an atomic bomb.
According to “The National Security Archive” Ever since the atomic bombs were exploded over Japanese cities, historians, social scientists, journalists, World War II veterans, and ordinary citizens have engaged in intense controversy about the events of August 1945. In February 24th, 1945 The force of B-29 nuclear delivery vehicles that was being readied for first nuclear use.
Although the attacks came about in Hiroshima, the attacks were not yet over. The united states was expecting to have another atomic bomb built to attack Japan once again. They were ready for the third week of august coming up as well. On August 10, Major Generals that were directors of the Manhattan project send a memorandum to the general of the army. in which he wrote that "the next bomb . . should be ready for delivery on the first suitable weather after 17 or August 18.
The causes and damages that the atomic bomb made were very little. This have hurt many people as well. The atomic bomb was was 10 feet (3.0 m) in length, 28 inches (71 cm) in diameter and weighed 8,900 lb (4 000 kg). Contained 64 kg of uranium, of which 0.7 kg underwent nuclear fission. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima, named "Little Boy”.
I know its alot to read but i worked hard writing this what can be my next paragraph!
