is this a good deal for my FIRST SYSTEM?

ok well i went to car tunes. and they had a package deal going. im getting one 12" Alpine type-S sub, the box, a 600watt amp, wires, AND instilation for only $350 which to me seems frickin amazing. i dont know much about car audio but this seems pretty good to me. i was worried because the guy said the amp was a 4 channel amp. and people on here said that would be bad for a single sub. so i called him today and asked him about it, and he said he was going to bridge the channels or something.. so it was really going to be running off 2 channels...(i dont really get that) anyway he said it would run at 300rms. so for 350 bucks is this a good deal?? i told him i will be in thursday to get it done.. just having second thoughts lol.
 
That is a pretty good deal for a first system. The Alpine Type S subs are pretty nice for what they put out. When he says he will bridge the amp he means that you can make the amp so instead of power dividing by 4 it is dividing by 2. So more power will go into that one channel the sub is on. Usually you don't seem 4 channel amps used on subs but they do work. I would get the combo and then upgrade the amp later.
