Is this a good beginning for my story?

Robbie Pale was either destined to become something great, or to die an unremarkable man. The unusual circumstances surrounding his sudden appearance in 1986 were casually dismissed as the work of an unfit mother (perhaps a teenager or a crack head). It didn't really matter though, who else would abandon a baby in a suitcase. Don’t get me wrong, there were several air holes, and when it was eventually opened there was a pillow for comfort and some sort of teething toy. Suggesting some sort of affection at the very least. It also seemed that the steady movement of the circling the conveyer belt had soothed the child into a peaceful doze. All things considered he seemed perfectly content and completely unharmed.

The first four years of Robbie's life were spent at a foster home, it wasn't as sad as you'd think though, after all he'd never known a real home. The staff were kind and he was a dazzlingly beautiful child that seemed to enthral even the grumpiest of people. He lived an unconventional, but none the less happy life up until at last he was fostered; they seemed a decent family, though the more defining thing for Robbie was becoming a big brother. It was that more than anything else that set the path for the curious yet magnificent life of the infamous Robert Fane.

Thanks for any feedback :)
Consider this like a prologue before i jump into the actual story
oh yeah, and the name change was on purpose

Ok it is pretty good. However, take out the "Don't get me wrong" in the first paragraph because it sounds to informal. Also, his name changed from Robbie Pale to Robert Fane was that intentional? You are also setting the story up as you narrating it you may want to change it to first or third person because that really adds more depth to any story I find. But it was pretty good keep at it, definitely some potential!

It's crossing the line into sounding more like a documentary than a fictional story. If this was the effect you wanted, good I guess.
