A friend of mine is from a Polish American family but her college housemates were all born and raised in China.
My friend had decorated their shared living room space with pillows and blankets and nick nacks because she thought that it would make the room seem more inviting and "livable".
One of her roommates eventually complained about her decorating, saying that it had the opposite effect for her.
I'm just wondering for anyone who knows anything about Chinese culture, if a lack of living room clutter is the norm for Chinese? In other words, is this a cultural dislike of nick nacks or simply a personal room mate conflict?
