Greetings,
It seems I?m not very PDA literate ... so please bear with me. I haven?t hot-synced my Palm Tungsten E since June 2005 though I?ve been using this PDA almost daily since then.
Back then I noticed my hot-synch transfers weren?t all that successful where some data didn?t get copied to my hard drive. So I stopped hot-synching. Since then I?ve heard forum accounts of other users losing all or part of their Palm-based data when trying to hot-synch.
Meanwhile I?ve accumulated a l-o-t of Memos on my Tungsten E ? not to mention Tasks, Contacts, and Calendar stuff ? that I can?t afford to lose.
I?m wondering if a third-party backup program is the way to go here but I?m totally in the dark here. What do they actually do? How do they work? Which is best? My ultimate goal is to get all my data from the PDA into MS Word on my computer.
Any suggestions will be most welcomed?
Mike Mooney
PS - by the way, when I first got the Tungsten E, I also got a SanDisk SD 512MB expansion card though I haven?t really used it yet. Again, I?m a newbie to much of this.
