I have a Silver Dollar fish that when I turn the hood light on in the morning it swims madly around the tank hitting the walls, rocks, and other fish(He's a very tough fish, it never as hurt it self doing this which amazes me) could he just be sensitive to light?

He also was in a tank before I got him and a blue gill constantly attacked him, so could he just be afraid of anything surprising?

when you turn the light on you must have the room light or some other form of light in the room. with the other light wait about ten or fifteen minutes until you turn the hood light. the sudden light change scares your fish and he reacts like we would and runs around trying to figure out what has happened to his tank. sudden changes will stress your fish out. the blue gill that tormented played a part in your silver dollar acting like that. maybe the silver is just skiddish and scared of anything, if you watch your fish you can figure out their personalities and how they react to different situations.

i think you should leave the light off.does it have a fish house the light might stress your fish out

make sure the light in the room is on before you turn the fish tank light on. because me and you both no that we dont like someone turning the light on while were dead asleep
