Is there some way to hook a keyboard up to a TV?

What I'm asking is how you do it.
Is there a certain tv/keyboard
Or is there a program I need?

I'm moving to an apartment and only want internet without cable.

I thought that instead of getting a new laptop, I get a new bigger tv and kill two birds with one stone.

Is that a good idea as far as expenses, or would it just be a better idea to get a new laptop and keep my TV for movies?
I know you can do it..several of my friends have done it.
 
TV's don't have any proccessors or much memory or programs, let alone a mouse. If you only want internet, but want to watch movies on a fairly large screen, buy that widest screen laptop in the store. The widest I've seen is about 18 inches. DVD's can play on them, and HECK, now they even have Blu Ray technology for laptops.
