I've started running a while ago, at first my main challenge was stamina, not running out of breath, things like that. But now it seems that my legs have become the bottleneck of running for me. After 10 or so minutes of running my lower legs (they are called calves I think) start to become really heavy and sore and I start to feel like I am wearing heavy metal boots or something. And once I ignored that pain and just kept running and after that my legs hurt for a long time, like several weeks. I had to stop running completely for that time.
What are some exercises I can do to improve my legs strength/stamina for running? I really prefer it to be something simple that doesn't require any special equipment as I can't afford to go to gym regularly these days. I have a 30lbs dumbbell though, doubt that would be useful for my legs though.
Thank you.
