Is there no way a Ducati 898 could be a starter bike?

If I have never owned a motorcyle before but I feel like I am strong enough to handle the weight of a 898 cycle my first time, can I handle this much speed and performance on my first ever motorcycle?

its how one feels under you that matters you can learn on any size
how you handle it is up to you
the speed kills not the performance
you can learn how to ride on any bike
how it fits your butt that matter how you feel on it what matters

I would have to disagree with the throttle working the same on any size bike. So far I've ridden 250s, a 500 and a 900 and I assure you, the same twist of the throttle on a 250 isn't the same as on the 900. In fact, there's a huge difference between a 250 and a 500.

Not saying you can't learn on an 898, but I'd highly advise at least taking the MSF Basic RiderCourse first. Good luck!
