I am in Canada.
For eg, I want to set up a merchant payment (credit card billing) account. If I collect my clients visa information, and it is somehow stolen from me, could I have a liability? What if the payment company that I set up my merchant account with has a system that somehow compromises the information? What if my employee copies down the numbers and takes them home?
Is there insurance for these things, and what would that coverage be called so I could ask my broker? I am trying to set up my business insurance and this is one issue that came to mind.
