I've started bike ridding and watching what I eat, however with winter coming I will be ridding inside on a bike stand and want to know if there are any videos of a camera mounted on a helmet or bike while someone rides a trail that I can watch while ridding inside so as to not get bored. I remember seeing something like this on TV along time ago.

If you drop a couple large for a Computrainer, you can ride virtual courses or even race friends and strangers via the internet.

If your budget isn't that large, pick up some videos of LeTour or other bike races. Universal Sports broadcasts a lot of bike racing. I've got a drawer full of tapes and DVD's I've recorded over the years. I recall one Paris-Roubaix from a few years ago where the camera guy gave us an angle on the leader that felt like you were riding right on his tail. Spectacular.

That said, I mostly play video games (NCAA football.....), or watch NFL and NASCAR. If you want a real killer workout, ride an NFL game, but turn up the resistance and sprint through all the commercial breaks.

There are several Virtual rides on DVDs that you can get. You can get some training classes that will keep you busy. You can get a virtual reality trainer that will simulate the road conditions of the ride. You can also get online and race against other people with the right set up. I know it's boring but I concentrate on keeping my pace up so I can get a good workout. The more you ride the less boring it gets.
