...of you are like me I see? more officers with the AC on all the time. Driving at a rate of speed that is not necessary and we the tax payer is fitting the bill. CA is broke and why are we not looking into every way to save this great state from such miss use our taxes. Help me out people this is about all of us I love the police but the abuse and miss use of there power has gone on long enough.
I thank you all for your answers and to some of you that resulted to name calling please grow up. It's just a question. Wake up people and smell the coffee why is this state broke it's not just because we spend on the homeless and the poor there is more to this state being broke and I will ask as many questions as I will untill I'm satified with an answer you don't like it don't answer back. I don't have homies, nor do I live in an area where people get shot up. I earn very well and I would pay more taxes if I knew it was going too where is should and not to state officers that don't a ____ for it . If you want to talk lets do that if you want to play games then get back to your Playstation or X-box.

Common question here but like many the public perception is off. The vehicles are left running because of all the electrical gear inside. If you shut them off for long with everything powered up and on line then the battery will die. Do that to often then you must replace the battery.......which is also expensive. As for the rate of speed, unless you are in the car with the Officer and know where they are going you have no way of knowing if their rate of speed is excessive.

The gas is paid for out of the agency's budget. This comes from tax dollars. As far as government waste goes, the cost of fuel for emergency responders is nowhere close to the more egregious wastes these politicians indulge in.

EDIT:
Yes, there is nothing like coming home from a 12 hour shift, peeling off your body armor, and then wringing out your under shirt................
