I agreed to buy a slightly used iphone from someone Not to long ago. I spoke with him on the phone and we exchanged info. (Here comes the dumb part) After that I sent money to a P.O. Box on a military base about an hour and a half away from me.

Then after a few days he said he received the money and said he was sending the iphone. But of course he didn't. The numbers that this guy used were (501-352-9237). And when I tricked him into calling me back the number that showed up was (305-836-7371). After getting that number I figure he was one of those scammers that also calls homes claiming that your vehicle insurance is almost over or that you can get health insurance for this much, etc. Im sure alot of you have gotten those calls.

So im wondering if there is a way to track this guys real name down by the P.O. Box he used around the time he scammed me? Since the P.O. Box that I sent the money to was on a military base, do they keep track of the names that used them?

AND I know sending money to a P.O.Box was stupid. Hell sending money to anyone that you don't know is stupid. I've learned my lesson. So if you're reply is something like "you've should of know better" or "it was dumb, blah blah" just move on and don't bother repling.

And to everyone else with informative answers, thanks.
