Is there anyway to get wireless internet without a phone jack?

okay so my uncle just started renting this house from this lady and when he moves in he notices that there are no phone jacks in the house! So he can't even hook up his modem...Or a phone! Problem is he lost his job has no money had to sell everything except his computer and bed and now has no internet. He used it to stay connected and fill out job applications. now he can't. Is there anyway for him to obtain wireless internet without phone jacks? Like the wireless vcard or something of the sort?

And please don't say go to the library he already is but I really wish he could have his own internet.

And he also can't get phone jack's installed since he's renting and she doesn't want them in her house.
