Is there anything you can buy to keep wasps away when your out in the garden??

Terrible phobia!!? I have such a bad phobia of wasps when I'm out sunbathing I keep running back in when I see or hear one its really bad, my mum bought a candle you burn to keep them away but it doesn't seem to work....
