My boyfriend bought me a gorgeous ring for Christmas, the metal is supposed to be hypoallergenic so I wasn't worried but after wearing it for four days, I had a reaction to the metal. 
My mother suggested I paint the inside of the ring with clear nail polish to provide a barrier between the metal and my skin but I'm afraid it might damage the ring.
I'm just hoping there's something I can do to keep myself from having a reaction, but still wear the ring. Any ideas?
The ring is made of tungsten carbide if that's any help at all.
