Is there any way to change how Google Chrome handles MP3 files?

The default Google Chrome audio player absolutely sucks. Is there any way to get it to use Quicktime or something instead for audio files such as MP3?
Just to clarify, I am talking about opening online MP3s within the Google Chrome browser.
