Is there any way I can use a MIDI track to extract only lead vocals?

I have the vocal track of a song, but I only want the lead singer's voice. Can I create a MIDI track to tell the DAW which pitches I want to extract? Basically I would play the lead singer's notes on the keyboard controller and then the DAW would use that information to attempt to take out only the parts of the track that match those pitches.
