is there any type of financial support for families of cancer patients?

my father got diagnosed with cancer about a year ago and now we are really feeling the financial burden. my mom does not have a job she stays at home and takes care of my dad. my older brother and i are helping as much as we can but its getting harder to make rent every month, buying food and paying for the utilities. my mom had financial support from the government, but because of an error on their part she now owes them 2000 dollars and they will not give her food stamps or finnancial aid. any one have any ideas on what we can do?
 
You should call the American Cancer Society, they have funds to help with cancer patients but they are limited. Also from a home phone call 211 which is the United Way and tell them exactly what you need and they will be able to give you a list of resources. Also if it was a error on their behalf call your state representative and let them know what happen and they will investigate the situation and fix it. Good luck and God bless
