is there any trick to the carnival game where u knock the coin off the pool ball...

...and out of the circle? ok so i went to a fair this weekend and there is a prize game where they set this coin on top of a 8 ball(pool ball) and there is a small little bit bigger than the coin size circle below the 8 ball u than have to hit the white ball into the 8 and make the coin not land in that little circle and you have to d0 it 10 times well i got like 6 out of 10 times and was wondering if there was any trick to it when i go back this weekend
