is there any thing in universities such as photography as a main subject, or

anything near that? i am looking forward to study photography in university is there such thing in uni's
 
The actual 'mechanics' of Photography I don't think is a broad enough subject and its just a module in an Arts Degree. On some courses it doesn't even count towards the Degree!
