Is there any proof that "there's someone out there for everyone"?

People saying "yes there is" is not proof
looking for someone guarantees nothing but effort
Thing is if one looks one should find - but that's not the case
and why do some people become defensive when this statement is challenged
Bottom line there isn't someone our there for everyone
one more thing - what if the someone out there isn't compatable for u then what ?
