I don't know anything about amplifiers i'm trying to learn but for right now i need help getting my amp settings right.
what I own, a Clarion head unit, a JL audio 500/1v2 amp and a stealthbox with a 12'' w3v3

theres a file teaching you how to tune your amp

well i dont specifically know ur question, but lets starting from scratch, the best thing to do is turn the gain on the amp down all the way, turn ur deck up to the maximum level u will be playing it at(example if it goes to 40 put it on 35) then turn the bass boost up on the amp if u have one, i personally prefer my low pass filter on the lower end around 40hz........but this is personal preference, and now turn the gain on the amp up, until u notice distortion, or the bass no longer increases, and thats it.

Start with every setting on you amp turned down. On your head unit "your radio" turn all the bass settings down Treble up, mids should still be at mid range. Turn the volume up to where you usualy listen to your tunes, then just slowly tune in your amp. Depends on you stuff but i usualy set my gain about 3/4 the way up, and the frequency little under 1/2 way..hope this helps good luck man
