He saw a fiddler playing in a Paris Street,
Recalling his village musician,
Giving a concert from the rooftops
He saw young people dancing,
And he remembered his wife Bella when she was young,
And how he lifted her with joy into the air
And when he walked down the Champs Elysses,
he sees before his eyes the little streets of Vitebsk.
